Barristers Ball 2009

This year we got to celebrate our last Barrister's Ball at the beautiful Hyatt in La Jolla. It was by far the best event out of three that we had attended!! They organized the big event as if it was a very expensive wedding, which was so great - it gave me some good ideas. Cocktails and appetizers in the big glass room, then a great dinner with a full fledged buffet style of food and dancing in the big room across from the seated area. We had such a great time this year especially because Miranda actually attended the ball with her friend Laura who is a 1L this year. What a treat!

The dance was bittersweet as it was our last time we would all be there together as law and non-law students! Since this was our last and final Barrister's Ball - Ash and I went shopping for our dresses and we both settled on awesome BCBG dresses that we found at the outlet, yesss!!! The night of the dance we had a bit of a mishap....as Gregg and I walked into Ash and Jay's apartment, the first thing we heard was Ashley saying "the dress broke" and the next thing we saw was "Ashley's dress in Jay's hands and a sad face!". Turns out the the dress was on Ashley but one of her little strings was sticking out so she decided to zip it down, only it wouldn't zip back up!!! After some tugging and pulling, it finally zipped, however the zipper wouldn't stay together. We decided to do a last resort and I busted out my sewing skills and was actually able to sew the dress up on Ashley while she was in it!!! Amazingly it worked perfectly and no one even noticed!!!
The night was so memorable and fun.....definitely the best way to end our last year with Thomas Jefferson! Out with a bang!!!

BFF and Me

Jaime had the bright idea to attend the Rascal Flatts concert this year and I was so excited to jump on board! I have always loved this band, ever since high school they are the reason I am into country music!!! The concert was a blast, beforehand Jaime came over and we carpooled down to Jennison's sister, Katie's house. There we ate some amazing bean dip and met up with all the other girls. Jenni's sister Kristy and her sister in law Leslie, Jenni's older sister Katie, and Jenni's friend Yasmin. It was a great group and we all shared a deep love for some good ol' country! Afterwards Jaim and I decided to make a random and much needed stop at In n' out where we caught up on each other's lives. It's times like those where I just love life....eating a burger and catching up with my best friend!!! What a great concert, can't wait to go again next year!

RENT

"No day but tooooday"
Ever since Miranda and I met almost four years ago we have shared a love for musicals like none other! The number one musical that I have wanted to see was RENT and Gregg and I finally got to go this past month. Of course Miranda and her best friend Kat joined in on the fun! The absolute best part of the show was when they sang "Seasons of Love" and all of the members of the cast lined up. I was absolutely amazed at how emotional I got during some of the sadder scenes.....it just proves that seeing anything in person is much better than listening to a cd!! I got a brochure on signing up for the season package of musicals!!! On my wishlist for next year is "Wicked" and "Legally Blonde"! (I'm not sure if Gregg will be joining me for both of those, but I'll hope for the best!)
